Chemical Peel. PCA Peel. PCA skincare. Exfoliation

PCA Chemical Peels

The topmost layer of our skin, the epidermis, naturally sheds dead skin cells as well as replaces them with fresh, new ones. However as we age, this process of cell regeneration slows down, causing excess dead cells to accumulate on the surface of our skin. This is where PCA chemical peels comes in handy!

  • Improve skin texture.
  • Reduce the appearance of dark spots.
  • Stimulate healthy skin cell and collagen production.
  • Control and improve the appearance of rosacea and acne.

How do Chemical Peels work?

PCA Chemical peels increase the skin’s cell turnover rate, bring new skin cells to the surface, diminish dark spots, reduce fine lines and  wrinkles, clear breakouts as well as restore a youthful and radiant appearance. They are safe for most skin types.

3-6 treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart are recommended for maximum results.

Is there any downtime?

There is little to no downtime with PCA chemical peels. You will be able to return to your work immediately after the treatment. You may experience some dryness or flaking in the following days. Just be sure to use only the products in your Post Procedure Kit you receive at your appointment.

What should I do prior to my peel?

 1.  Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and self-tanning products for a minimum of 24 hours before and after the treatment and preferably for up to 1-2 weeks to minimize the risk of post treatment temporary dyspigmentation (darkening or lightening of the skin). Please be advised a treatment will not be administered on sunburned skin.

2.  Stop any retinols, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide products 3-5 days before your treatment.

3. Get your skin in the best condition prior to your treatment, by following a good at home skincare regimen. We are happy to help with recommendations.

What should I do after my peel?

1. Please only use products in the post procedure kit you are given for at least 3 days following your treatment.

2. Avoid retinols and any active products, like Vitamin C until your skin has healed. Once healed you may return to your regular skin care routine.

3. Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after treatment to avoid irritation-  only a mineral makeup may be applied after .

4. Avoid sun exposure until healed and reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.

5. Avoid anything that causes excess sweating or heat as well such as jacuzzi's, saunas and hot showers until the skin is healed.

6. Change your pillow case and treat your face as an open wound until healed.

7.  Avoid picking or exfoliating the area and allow old/dry/dead skin to flake off naturally.

8. Keep hydrated by drinking plenty or water and hydrate skin with the post care moisturizer as needed.
